			<title><![CDATA[ Transmission Bucking Between 2nd and 3rd Gear ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have a 2003 3.5L with 5-sp automatic.&nbsp; After a certain period of time (several days to a few weeks) the transmission will "buck" when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear.&nbsp; This happened again last night.&nbsp; I took the car out and used the manual shift and I could make the car buck every single time when shifting from 2nd to 3rd.&nbsp; When I downshifted into 3rd from 4th, no problem.&nbsp; When I downshifted from 3rd to 2nd, no problem.&nbsp; When I shifted back again from 2nd to 3rd, buck.&nbsp; Every time.<br>I disconnected the negative battery cable for a few minutes to reset the trans module and the problem went away.&nbsp; I could not make it happen again no matter what I did.&nbsp; This entire cycle has happened several times now and it is clear that it is electronic in nature, and not mechanical.<br>Is this all in the transmission module?&nbsp; Could it be from anywhere else?&nbsp; If the module is replaced with an new one does it need to be programmed? ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ <div id="post_message_9244">Well it's all over now and although not one being patriotic , I must admit that I am proud to be Canadian today......our team did really good..........and congratulations to our American friends for their records medal counts............finishing first overall.<br><br>Canada broke a record with the most gold medal (14) in a winter Olympics and finished often 4th or 5th in a large number of events........<br><br>This is spring break for us up here..........and we will hit the slope this afternoon ......not a lot of snow left but we will be outside at least............... <img class="inlineimg" title="Smile" alt="" src="http://www.myjeepcompass.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> <br><br>Next stop for Winter Olympic is Sotchi in Russia....did you hear what Russia's&nbsp; Prime Minister said following his country's poor showing in Vancouver?.................he wants to fire the entire Olympic management !!!!!</div> ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ ABS and TCS lights come on intermittently ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Anyone know what would cause them to come on? &nbsp;About a year ago they lit up off and on for about a week. &nbsp;Never got around to getting it checked out but one day they didn't come on and have stayed off up until this past Saturday. &nbsp;Stopped for gas and as I was leaving the station the lights came on and stayed on for the rest of the day (drove about 100 miles with two 1-2 hour stops). &nbsp;Then Sunday morning they were still on. &nbsp;Later Sunday on my second trip in the car they did not come on. &nbsp;They've been off ever since. &nbsp;So any ideas? &nbsp;Loose wire somewhere? &nbsp;Will there be a code to read when the lights are on? ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ removing strut to knuckle bolts ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Hey all, <br><br>Trying to change my struts and have all the bolts removed off the strut except for the very bottom one that connects the strut to the knuckle... its on both sides... top came out nice and easy but the bottom ones are stuck on there.&nbsp; i dont want to cut them off if i dont have to.&nbsp; anyone have any tips? I have the brake callipers and rotors removed to take a lot of the weight off the knuckle thinking maybe the weight is causing the bottom bolts to not move but thats not the case.&nbsp; <br><br><br>any recommendations are much appreciated! <br> ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Check Engine Light, but no OBD II code ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Purchased new, 2002 GLS 2.7 ATw/ AWD and 123,000 miles.&nbsp; Recently had 2nd timing belt &amp; service at dealer before going off the extended 120,000 (HP issue extension) engine / drive train warranty.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Has been running fine with 20 mpg city commute and 30 mpg highway.&nbsp;&nbsp; No problems and EZ starting &amp; smooth running but at service, dealer suggested change out&nbsp; spark plugs which I declined (maybe stupidly).<br><br>3 Miles after fuel filling at cheap ARCO, car began running rough and 2 miles later, CEL light came on.&nbsp;&nbsp; OK at highway speeds but wants to stall at stop lights or low speeds.&nbsp;&nbsp; Must manually shift keeping it in lower gear to avoid stumbling.&nbsp;&nbsp; CEL is NOT flashing, just on solid but eventually goes out on it's own with no attempted fix.&nbsp;&nbsp; It does not last.&nbsp;&nbsp; Stop and start driving seems to trigger CEL light again.<br><br>OBD II sensor check at local auto parts store shows NO STORED... ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ valve lifter tapping ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ Hi all;<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; I have been having a problem with my 2006 3.5l Santa Fe.&nbsp; In the morning, when the engine is cold, I get a lifter tap.&nbsp; It lasts &nbsp;for about a minute and then quiets down.&nbsp; Sometime it comes back but not as loud.&nbsp; I change my oil often and use the viscosity recommended for the engine.&nbsp; I have taken it to the dealer but you guessed it, by the thime I get there it is quiet as a church mouse.&nbsp; I probably will have to leave it there overnight and see if happens for them.&nbsp; Has anyone had this problem?&nbsp; If so, how did you go about having it repaired?&nbsp; ]]></description>

			<title><![CDATA[ Losing mileage? ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ After reaching 55,000 miles a month or so back I noticed my 3.5L 2004 baby was losing about 1-2 MPG in mileage.&nbsp; Everything else seems fine, although it does run a little rough from a cold start in the morning, tends to pulsate a little until I drive it for a while, then the engine idles more smoothly.&nbsp; I'm at 58,000 miles now.<br><br>I'm thinking it's the fuel filter needing to be replaced, since the manual says it should be replaced after 52,500 miles and I've been following every other maintenance schedule to the letter except for that, but I wanted to make sure so when I go into the dealer I can blow them off when they tell me I'm losing mileage because I need a new engine, and wouldn't I like to just trade it in and get a new car now?&nbsp; <img src="http://hyundaisantafemessageboard.yuku.com/domain/bypass/images/tongue.gif"><br><br>Unless I really do need a new engine??!?<br> ]]></description>

Or can it?<br><br><img src="http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a385/lovemysantafe/Forum%20Stuff/IMG_5076.jpg" alt="image"><br><br>Tonight I got a wild hair up my butt and decided to de-badge my Santy; something I've been wanting to do for probably four years now but just now got around to. Let me say this...if you want to de-badge, don't wait until the car is almost six years old. The glue holding the letters on was like hardened concrete and I broke probably 75% of the floss that I used. Thank goodness my hairdryer has a super-hot setting to help loosen the archaic glue holding the badges on. I'll edit in some better photos tomorrow. Unfortunately because I waited so long, the paint under the badges is slightly darker than the rest of the car because it hasn't been exposed to the elements....ever. Thankfully you can't notice it unless you're looking at it from the right angle.<br><br><img... ]]></description>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="mso-spacerun:yes">&nbsp;</span>It took a lot longer
than I expected to get a material close to my original headrest colour but we
managed it so the DVD headrests could then be recovered and fitted. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Fitting was easy. Power was picked up from power socket in
the dash and cable tucked nicely under the floor consul and from there into the
backs of the seats.</p>
