ESP warning light

Hi,

Got a 2007 Santa-Fe 2.2L deisel, clutch failed a few months back and ever since the warranty replacement I have had the ESP warning light coming on about 15
minutes into a journey.

Hyundai dealer had a look at a few times and recommend that I get the wheels alligned, as it MIGHT fix it. I am thinking they should have done wheel allignment
when re-building the car with the new clutch - can anyone confirm this ? Surely drive shafts would have been removed ans ball joints disconnected ??

I am not chuffed with the level of service form the dealer.

Any comments or advice ?

Ok, so I am a bit tight on the money front, but what the heck, the new santy comes with rails and bars factory fitted!!!!!!!!!!
I have been trying everyone online and visiting local outdoor pursuit shops. My requirements are simple, a quality roofbox that will fit onto the existing
factory roofbars.
Hyundai UK are adamant that if I can find one that fits and is within a 100kg weight limit total, then they are happy and it wont affect the 5 year warranty.
My local maindealer (not being used by me anymore, but thats another story and one I will share soon), along with every other shop & online specialist,
insist that I must buy another set of bars and foot-pack (about £120) before ANY box will fit my Santy! However, I have been looking into the Thule Atlantis or
Spirit roof-boxes that comes with a unique "claw-like" fixing system. The blurb on this says that it will fit onto any roofbar that is upto 80mm
wide, the new santy is just under 80mm.

I have a Hyundai santa Fe 2.2 crdt cdx+7 AUTO, which is 11 months old.
I have had it for about 3 weeks now. When i collected it, it showed me that i was achieving around 22 mpg, (hyundai technical sheet states that this should be
26.4mpg-urban, 42.2mpg-extra urban, 34.4mpg-combined). Then, after 1 week, an engine emissions warning light flashed on the dashboard, and eventually stayed on
permanantly.
I complained about the poor mpg and warning light to my local hyundai dealer (swindon), who had the car for 24 hours. The service advisor phoned me to state
that they would need to "re-generate the particulate filter on the fuel pump", which he believed would extinguish the warning light and should
improve the mpg.
When I collected my car, it initially showed 37.7mpg being returned, but has continually reduced all the way down to my best of 29mpg.

After two years of being a Santy owner and loving a whole lot about the car (and the community that goes with it!), the repair costs over the course of time
and now the rising fuel and tax costs mean that she is finally having to go :-( I will miss her a great deal I think.

The finance deals that they are doing on new cars now are too good to pass up, and the lure of cheap finance, 50 mpg, no MOT for 3 years and a new warranty
have meant a new Renault is on order. Should arrive around the 1st May, so I have between now and then to try and sell the Santy privately otherwise she's
being taken as a part-ex (will loose a fair bit of money that way but expect to start saving it vs running costs fairly quickly).

Has anyone else noticed the changes made to the price of road tax from next year?

I missed the high tax band because my santy was registered before march 2006 so was therefore in group F but the greedy gits appear to have changed it during
the week and now cars registered after 2003 and over 225 co2 emissions are being moved to group L. Dirty rotten tree hugging gits.

My mates V8 Chevy Silverado pick up truck doesn't show the Co2 emissions on the log book due to being an import so he gets his road tax cheaper so i may
look at changing my Santy next year for Dodge Ram or a cheep Navigator this way i can do my bit to help Global warming happen quicker and then maybe our taxes
will come back down.

Currently driving a 2003, 03 plate, 2.4 petrol Santa Fe. For a while now I have been noticing a noise when pulling away in 1st gear when the clutch is depressed about half way. It's starting to get worse and I'm noticing it occasionally when changing up to second and sometimes when reversing. One of the guys at my local dealer has heard the noise (OK so it was 5 months ago) and said it was the springs in the clutch plate vibrating and wouldn't do any harm at all. Since then a local mechanic has heard the noise and diagnosed a worn clutch bearing.

Has anyone else had the same or similar problem?
