Hi Australian Forum members

In the early days of the forum I owned a Santa Fe and posted regularly. Unfortunatley, now I no longer own any cars as my wife and myself are sailing and living on a small catamaran. We cruise the east coast of Australia following the seasons. However, recent upgrade of internet on our boat led me to just check how the forum was going. Plus a friend of mine asked me what I thought of the Santa Fe.

It was good to catch up on the latest info and can still see that SF owners are still very happy with their babies. I noted that the links to my web site posts no longer work which is not unusual as I no longer own the company that I posted them under. However, Gopack has used some of the components from my web site in other posts (modifications). Thanks Gopack.

We still get nostalgic whenever we see a SF go by.

If any one wants to contact me it would be better to email on sv2abreastATyahoo.com.au (replace AT with the usual...

Guys,

My inlaws own a Santa Fe 4cyl 2.4, I believe its a 2002 Model. The Front Disc Rotors are warped and need machining or replacing. I just need to know if the Rotors on the Santa Fe are a slip on, or will I have to remove the entire hub assembly to have the discs machined. I plan on removing the rotors and taking them to the local shop to be measured and hopefully machined.

I find it strange that the car has never done any off road work and this will be the second time the front rotors have been machined because of warping. The car has only done 90,000klms and driven by an older couple, so they don't give it a hard time.

Thanks in advance,

Jason

We we lucky enough to have a Santa Fe rental for a week up around the snow country (yes we took it above the snow line). I have read similar comments from people on this site.

We are not so sure about the Santa Fe now and we would be wanting to use the car for moderate sand driving also.
