Crossover specs of Monsoon system

I know the Monsoon system has built in crossovers. I believe I've read it's a 3 way. I've searched and searched the internet and can't find any information on the crossover. Such as slopes and frequency points. I want to replace the factory head unit and speakers then add an amp and sub running of the new head unit. The only answers I've ever seen say bypass the Monsoon amp because you can't replace the speakers because of the internal crossover. Not sure I'm 100% on board with that. If one could use speakers that work well with the same cut off points of the Monsoon system then why wouldn't you still be able to retain it?

i just installed my head unit in my new santa fe and now im adding my subs. i figured i should ask about taking off all the plastic along the drivers side to run wires back there since i already broke the head off of a grommet thing holding in the panel next to the seat. i dont want to break anything else... anyone have instructions or something for taking off the plastic panels from the drivers kick panel back to behind the back seats? itd be much appreciated

also, i read about the places to drill thorugh the firewall and ill probably be going though where the clutch would be in a manual

hi there. does any one no if you can add on the tweeters i have seen in some santa fe's as i have stock vdo head unit with 4 speakers. just wondered if anyone has added the tweeters and if the wiring is there ready to plug in the tweeters? will be upgrading stereo anyways to include bluetooth for handsfree phone etc. Thanks in advance, Tarrantdrake

Santa Fe 2005 Monsoon Front Speaker Replacement Suggestions?

Dear All...

I have been searching and searching the web to find a good replacement speaker for the front. My goals are as follows...
1. Use the existing monsoon system and only replace the door speakers.
2. Given that the door speakers are crossed over via the amp, I need a set of speakers (component?) that can take separate wiring for the mid and low range channels.
3. I would like the component speaker to fit without modification within the existing panel mount (wiring aside).

I have found some MBQuart speakers (component with tweeter spider mount) that may fit but I don't know for sure.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

2010 Santa Fe - iPod Not Synching Correctly

When I plug my iPod USB into my factory stereo, it recognizes it simply as a USB rather than an iPod. While the stereo does play the music from the iPod, and it recognizes song titles/artist names, it will only play in "shuffle" mode, and it will not allow me to browse through my different playlists.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I may be able to try differently?

I'm installing a pioneer U310BT in my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe without the Monsoon Sound System.

This is the unit: Pioneer

Do I need an antenna adapter for it?

Also, I think I need a dash kit for the unit. I'm not sure what one will fit best.

I've read that some parts of the trim kit will not fit and I won't have to use these parts. Any...

Hey everyone, I have a factory navigation system for 2008+ Santa Fe. Bought it for my dad, but thought the idea of watching movies in the car was ludicrous, go figure. But anyways, if anyone is interested, I am selling it for 475 shipped. The unit is pretty much brand new, only took it out of the box to take pictures. here are some specs: 8" screen Plays Dvds Navigation that speaks (has most streets, but new ones would need an update) Face tilts downward when switching out discs. Double Din Units

More audio questions for the experts among you all.

I need to change the head unit in the Santy as the cd player packed in so i am now looking at fitting a double din unit like this one.

Does the Santy original sound system have amps built onto the speakers?

I want to change the head unit as the CD player part in mine is knackered but I am sure I read somewhere that there are amps on the speakers so these either need to be by-passed or the speakers replaced.

Does anyone know of a trick to remove a stuck CD from the Clarion head unit?

I don't know if the eject part of the head unit has packed in or if the disc has become jammed somehow. When i press eject all i get is a few clicks and nothing else. Just thought i would ask before i go removing the dash to get the head unit out.

I'm considering replacing the speakers in my 04 Santa Fe. I have already replaced the factory 6disc monsoon deck with a Kenwood Excelon deck that is connected to the factory amp then out to the 6 speakers. What I'm planning on doing is replacing all the speakers with aftermarket ones. What I would like to know is if anyone know of a place on the web where I can order replacement sail panels, the panels where the factory tweeters are located. I've searched and searched and can't find anywhere to buy them hoping someone knows a place thanks.

The title says it all. I want to replace the factory speakers in my '01 Santa. I have read that the fronts are 6.5", but I'm a little confused about the rears. Are they 6.5" or 6.75" size? I'm not planning to change the head unit at this time, but I want to improve the sound. Sound deadening using RAAMmat and foam has already been done, so I know what is involved with removing trim panels front and rear.

Also, I see on www.sonicelectronix.com that they have some Kicker speakers for less than $50 US a pair. I'm thinking about DS650's rear and DS600's front. Opinions, anyone?

First off let me say thank you to all who take time to read/respond to this post. I just purchased an 2003 Santa Fe and I love it! here is my deal...I hate the stock system in the vehicle. I am replacing it with an aftermarket head unit and filling out the sound with the subs and amp from my last truck (which is 6 months old). Here's my question: What are the basic things I may need to know about putting in the head unit? Are there any concerns about taking the dash apart? Do i need any special tools? Are there any techniques that other members here have found effective? Where is the best place to get in through the firewall with my power cable? Where is the best side to run my RCA cables/power/remote down? Also,where is a good place to ground my amp in the rear?

I'm fully capable of doing this project and time isn't a factor, so I'm just wondering some of the ways that any of you guys have done this ahead of me. i also do...

Ghost in the machine... (losing the radio tuner presets)

Hi, I've a UK spec 2005, the radio is the original factory fit and it has an annoying habit of losing the preset channels. I've got TA and AST on so I am used to it skipping off the selected channel whilst Traffic alerts are being broadcast but it seems to lose the preset channels every time I trun it off.

It's not the end of the world but I kinda like Radio 4 on the 4 button and Radio 2 on the 2 button and the local staions elsewhere... and retuning it everytime is a pain. Any thoughts?

Having typed this it occurs to me that it is a face-off stereo and that the face unit might need a new battery - is...

Help with Santa Fe Monsoon Amp wiring (2003)

I was hoping someone still has the wiring diagram for the amplifier under the passenger seat of the Santa Fe (2003). I see it was posted back in 2006 but all the links are no longer accessible. I've traced most of the wires out but am having trouble locating the drivers side front woofer connections. I haven't gotten into the rear speakers yet. There are 2 clips that go into the amp. One is a 24 pin connection with 20 of the pins active. The other - I'm not sure what it does. There are 8 connections with one (white) being 12V+ constant power and one black being the ground. Not sure what the other 6 are for. Thanks!

My monsoon radio having issues

so... after every other thing going wrong with my santa fe, my radio is starting to act funny. its the 6 disc changer. when i am driving, the whole screen blacks out and the buttons dont work. i have to turn the radio off and turn it back on so it can come back. is this a sign im going to be replacing this p.o.s. soon? it gets really annoying. anything i can do to save from buying a new radio? if i do need to buy a new radio, do i need to do something special for the amp? if i can recall, there isnt a separate wire for it, i think it is just in the wiring harness. any help is greatly appreciated.

iPod connection in '09

Just a snippit of info to pass along. It appears the Santy will have an available iPod cable connector for about $25 in the '09 models, available at your local dealer parts department. This will plug into an Aux jack that will be available in some of the models.
