I just changed my radio on my 2001 santafe and there were only 2 wires going to left front door and 2 going to the right front door. I suppose there are other
wires going to midrange or vice versa. I have want to replace my front speakers with Pioneer 4 way speakers and they take only 2 wires.

According to Crutchfield, they don't fit the SF. But Pioneer lists them as fitting 6.5 and 6.75 openings.

The SF front speaker mount has a back that semi-encloses the speaker. My guess is that those speakers are too deep. You could cut away the back portion if that is the problem.

It only takes about 15 minutes to pull the door panel and speaker. You could certainly check the fit if you really want to use those speakers.

They are available as a spare part. The part is actually sold as the inside mirror cover, not as a audio system part because it is available three ways: with the tweeter, with an opening for a manual mirror control lever, and a blank style with just a flat surface.

Go to www.hyundaiusa.com, under the "Owners" menu go to "Parts and Accessories". You can access the entire parts catalog there.
I'd like to add tweeters to my Mk1 Sante Fe CDX (already put in the wires when I upgraded the door speakers). But I don't want to make them obvious by fixing to the outside of the trim - I'd rather make them look OEM. Anybody know if the triangular grilles used in the US "Monsoon" models (with or without tweeters) are available as a spare part? Is there any way to get these in the UK? Did any UK models come with door tweeters fitted?

I never had the opportunity to hear the Mobile ES or home ES lines. This amp is pretty decent. It was the best that I could afford back in 1997. It's still going strong almost 10 years later, so I think that says a lot. Sound quality has improved some since then, so I'm looking for something with a little more power and better sound. I'm really impressed with the Kenwood amp I have running my subs, so I want to get a Kenwood for my main speakers as well.

I agree with you about Onkyo. That's what I have for my home theater system and it sounds incredible.

MetalMessiah's Santa Fe

No, that picture is fine. Sony's Mobile ES series was the high point of their line's history. If it had been one of those, I would have wondered why you would ever replace it.

Unfortunately, Sony phased them out and came out with the xPlod models. Same is true of their home audio equipment; the ES models were on the level of the higher end brands, but they never were able to compete Denon, Onkyo, etc...

In all honesty the new Speakers do need a certain volume to achieve their best, but we are not talking very loud either.
