I should add, its running perfectly, idle is fine, shifts fine, everything seems perfect except for that stupid code, LOL

going to say I learned it from so and so and thus a little of you and what you know is passed along, paid forward if you will.

I run a small auto service business on the side from my full time job, mostly oil changes, tune ups, brakes, that sorta thing and I make it a point to try and

Well folks, I think I got 'er fixed. I went out and followed the testing procedure sbr711 sent me and everything was checking out fine. No blockages,
solenoid was working, everything was checking out and I began to think something major may be wrong with the engine. So I stepped back and it kept striking me
odd that I could pinch off the A hose and nothing happened, but I could pinch off the E hose and the idle normaled up and ran like it should.

Well I sat there and stared at the thing forever wondering what if? So I reversed A & E and by golly if the thing didnt run like it was supposed to, smooth
idle an all. I dont know how they got reversed as I am 100% POSITIVE I put them back as I found them, I put a tag on each and EVERY thing I disconnected on the
hose end and the end it was connected to and on each connector and what it was connected to. I can only assume, given the fact things were hooked up as they
were (one line not on the bracket hard line, solenoid...

I went out and instead of applying 12v to the solenoid to see if it would engage, I realized with the engine idling and being a normally open switch it should
be open at idle and should feel vacuum through the solenoid, so I pulled the vacuum line that leads from the E port on the throttle body to the solenoid and I
have vacuum up to that point. I put that hose back on, and the other hose on the solenoid goes from the solenoid back to the bracket with two hard lines on it
back to the A port on the throttle body. Meaning I should have vacuum on the hose side of the A port on the throttle body, and I do. So that would seem to
indicate the solenoid itself is okay.

That seems to leave just the EGR valve itself if Im reading everything correctly. I wish I could get to everything easily Id just pull that sucker off and
clean it up and see if that had any effect.

Here's what I have found so far with the TSB test proceedure that sbr711 sent. I assume when you said there is no modulator, that you were referencing the
Vacuum Control Valve, because I certainly do not have that part, so I worked on that assumption until I know differently.

The first part of the test was squeeze off the yellow striped hose (Port A on the Throttle Body) and the engine should stumble if not stall. It did not. The
next step was to check for leaks and blockages starting at the Throttle Body E port. I know there are no leaks as all the hoses are new. The next
recommendation was to pull off the vacuum line on the E port and it stated that I should feel a vacuum on E port on the Throttle Body side. I do feel a good
vacuum there.

I dont yet have a vacuum pump to do some of the other checks, so I'll have to go get one of those.

Now, absent completing the rest of the testing, but comparing what is known now with the fact I power washed...

Well I went out and checked the vacuum lines. Though I put them back exactly as I found them, when I compared it to the vacuum line diagram for the engine off

There is a bracket with two metal vacuum lines. Only one of them was in use and it was from the EGR to what I believe is the EGR Solenoid (laying on the blue
cloth). When I did the work of replacing the spark plugs, that solenoid was not mounted to anything, it was just kinda dangling back there. Also, there are
four bolts on the back side of the manifold that apparently mount the manifold to a pair of brackets on the back side of the engine. None of the bolts were

When you removed the throttle body ( I take it you did to clean it), you need to make sure you have the grey-yellow & grey-green hoses in proper fashion

I seem to recal you said you replaced the plug wires, so you had intake off... did you remember to attach hose back to top of EGR valve ? Did you plug the EGR
