Went with my son on a new car hunting trip a couple of months ago, Hyundai dealership was the last stop on our list. We climbed into a 2009 Sante Fe and
didn't even bother to start the engine. There was no comparing this vehicle the the 2003 Lx that my wife is still driving. My son has always been impressed
with our SF and was willing to forgo the Honda he had test driven for a better deal, but the car and the dealership didn't live up to his expectations. The
interior appeares to have been "cheapened" over the years... just didn't seem as upscale as the older ones. Could have been 'cause we checked
out a base model as opposed to the top of the line. The sales people didn't seem friendly or energetic either, like they could care less. Ended up getting
the Honda instead.
We've decided to keep the '03 for at least another year, let the economy shake out the has-beens and weak dealerships/brands. Having bought a beautiful car (Daewoo Nubira) from a company what went under, don't want to do it again.
