The guy at the garage suggested that first since it had come on after a very long trip. Didn't work (but the car runs smoother and seems to have much better mileage). Don't know the exact code. I was just told it was an O2 sensor malfunction. Anyhow, it looks as if it will have to be changed. I have a 2002 2WD 4-Cyl so it is accessible on the grill side. I have a few questions though. 1. Is this an immediate replacement, or an ASAP replacement? I'm going to need the car all week and am tied up. Hope it can wait a few days. 2. Is this an easy DIY project for the "uninitiated"? How much is the necessary part? 3. If not, what's the $$$ damage at the dealer's?

Keep in mind that there is if I recall 4 O2 sensors to be looked at and the code determines which on is at fault. To answer your points: 1- No urgency but keep it under the radar. 2- Not sure I would do that myself...........all depending on the one found defective 3- Try to push it to Hyunday to at least pick up the part........it was kind of expensive ....don't remember the range My two cents............and good luck ! They are fairly easy to access but without the specific code, I'm not ready to take the guess. I think I'll go back or borrow a ECM scanner to get the precise code so I make sure I get it right the first time.
