images in ezboard. This should help new members and its in one place.
In order for your image to show up in your post, you must first have that image uploaded
to an image hosting site. Most ISPs will give you a personal web space of your own where
you can upload your images to. If you do not have an ISP that gives you some web space
you can look at the following link below that will list such sites.
Image Hosting Sites
If you are familiar with HTML, you can use the
How to make links and use HTML to show images guide.
Note: some sites do not allow users to post in html.
All users regardless of being a ezsupporter or just a free user can post images using ezcodes.
The following link will show you how.
How to make links and to show images using Ezcodes
Note: the new ezPost Formatting tool makes alot of these quite easy. See here for info.
Personal Icon
What is it:
its a 10 x 10 pixel image that allows you to represent your online identity. Click on the
"How to add a Personal Icon" link for the step by step guide.
Custom Signature
What is it:
is one of the many tools used to express your unique identity on the communities you visit.
After you create a custom signature, you can display it at the end of each post you make.
Make it as simple or as complex as youd like, from just one line of text to vivid imagery
showing off your artistic talents.
Note: Only ezSupporters can
use HTML in their custom signature. Both ezSupporters and free users are allowed ezcodes.
Click on
"How to add a Custom Signature" for the step by step guide.
Personal Photo
What is it:
is a 60x60 pixel image that expresses your unique identity when you post on an ezboard.
Once youve uploaded yours, it will be seen anytime a user clicks through to your profile
and under your user name when you post. Click on
"How to add a Personal Photo" for the step by step guide.

Image Size
One has to also take into consideration that size of the image you are posting.
Anything bigger than 600X400 will automatically push the window further to the
right and if one does not have a big monitor, they will have to scroll over to see all of
the image. Plus if the viewer does not have broadband and are only on a dialup (rare
but still exists) it would take a long time to download the image into the browser.
Therefore its advisable to resize your image in any photo editing program to 600x400
size or less. Then upload that resized image to the forum. Although one can resize an
image using html code without actually resizing the image, that procedure only works
with Interent Explorerer and not for other web browsers.
Examples of Image size appropiate for posting to the forum are...
320 x 200

640 x 400

Images that are too big or not appropiate for posting in posts are...
800 x 600

1024 x 768 and above

Another problem also is the size of the image file as shown in these two images..
Both are 640 by 400 in size, but one is 48kb while the other is 273kb
640 x 400 - 48kb

640 x 400 - 273kb

While both fit on the screen without taking the window/forum off the page, the 273kb one
will take longer to download and appear in the browser if one is not on broadband..
Therefore please take into consideration the size and resolution of the image when posting.
