You can't turn up the O.E.M. amp on the Santa Fe.

{Nevermind, I just went ahead and replaced the head unit. Everything is working perfectly!}
Do I have to jump through any hoops for speaker replacement due to the amp(s)? I've been unsuccessful getting the webtech pages to work for me so far, so I am not even sure what's in my Santa Fe... I'm in Canada, so it's apparently different here... I don't have a Monsoon deck or Delphi deck. I've got a Clarion. I've seen it mentioned that there are amps for the speakers in the doors for the non-Monsoons... Do I need to bypass these? Or can I just splice the new speakers into the existing wires? I've got the Crutchfield masters but it doesn't mention anything about amplifiers. If this is answered elsewhere, I'd sure like a link... |

I have no idea about the factory Clarion decks that come in the Canadian models. I think Santamen might know, as he changed out the deck on his.

Actually since I last posted that, I talked with a car audio installer here locally (my dealer sent me there to get the horn squak hooked up for the alarm set - there's an aftermarket car starter on the vehicle and they unhooked the squak when you hit lock the 2nd time).
Anyways, he said that there is no amp for the speakers in the models that came with the Clarion decks. *shrug* He said that was only true for the Monsoon equipped Santa Fes. I honestly don't know - and until I blow the stock speakers - I'm not going to worry about it. LOL |

Most everyone goes through the firewall where the clutch pedal would be mounted. Unless - of course - you have a clutch pedal in which case slightly to the left would work.
I can't speak for the 06 model, but on earlier models there was a cutout in the firewall insulation where the clutch pedal would mount. Made it pretty easy to find a safe spot to drill. |
