I know you'r talking about Sante Fe's and how to program the keyless entry. BUT. My other problem that my 2003 Elantra has is my keyless remote entry. It locks whenever it feels like it, while you are a passenger in the car, while the driver is outside the car, while you are walking down your driveway to get into the car. At first, it was funny, because you had the keys in your hand and could feel like it was your fault. On New Years Eve, in ankle deep water in the parking lot, after stowing the groceries in the trunk and getting soaked, you head for the drivers side and cant get in. It locked itself from the time I closed the trunk to getting to the drivers side door. I had to dig in the rain for the keys in my soaked jacket and reopen and wait for it to cycle.

The final straw was the other day at work, when the keys locked into the back seat because it locked itself all by itself. 23 miles from home, with no way to get into the car. It was probably my fault, because I stupidly laid the keys down onto the seat, instead of into a jacket pocket. But I never armed the lock to lock the car again it just arbitrarily did it. I didnt have the keys at hand, if it hadnt done this to me, I could have retrieved the keys and properly locked the car in the parking lot. I had to have someone bring me the extra remote and key.

I have read the owners manual and I dont see anything that says this is a safety feature to stop people from entering your car, in case you leave it and forget to lock it. Fat chance with this system. I dont see where it says that if you unlock the car and then open the back seat doors first and put things into the car prior to getting in to drive, it should lock itself before you can get into the front seat . I dont consider this a good feature. If thats what its supposed to be.

I havent seen this problem, just reference to keyless entry stopping working. Mine hasnt stopped working, it never stops working. This keyless remote also arms the alarm system on this car. Ive set it off while sitting in the car in the driveway to let the driver into the car.

Of course, the service department cant replicate this. They never can. Their sales dept. solution was to have an extra key hidden on the car. Just where would be a good place to do this?! AND that isnt the solution.

If any of youve had the same problem, give me a clue to tell the service manager to look here or there at this or that. Funny it has stopped being.

I also have the high pitched squeal at highway speeds (posted there what my dealer said) and the scratched/scratches on the windshield from the wipers.(thanks for the ideas on this) My car only has 3,000 on it. And the keyless thing has been with me from the beginning.

Sorry I put this keyless with the noises, but someone else maybe having the same combination of problems. I traded up to the Elanatra from my 98 Accent (too many miles on it).
