I'm starting to see press reports about the impending release of the new J.D. Power intial quality survey. Apparently Hyundai placed third among all manufacturers, beating both Toyota and Honda!
Porsche was first; Lexus was second. So Hyundai is tops among all mass-market brands in overall initial quality.

This year's survey included both problems and perceived design defects.
Toyota products won in the most individual categories. But the Tucson took top honors in the compact SUV class. Besides the Tucson, the Azera, Elantra, Sonata and Tiburon all placed in the top three in their classes. Obviously, the Sonata was up against still competition, so that impressive.
