Also told service department about oil leaking from under engine or so I thought, turns out its from the oil seal where gearbox connects so its got to go back to have the box removed and a new seal fitted.
Will let you know how it go's.

My 10K service cost 129.00 but the 20K will really hurt. Mine was 350.00. Servicing every 10K can get expensive.

Well 10,000 service went OK and sure enough was exactly 150.00 pounds
Sevice guy says the oil leak is from the seal between box and engine but they are going to take out the engine as thats the best way to do it. Have to say I was worried, after all it's only 1 year old and it's my baby. Anyway all went well although took a bit longer as the air con has to be emptied and then refilled and of course it's the first my service agent has done on the 2.7 auto version. It seems the 2.4 with manual box is dead easy as they just drop the box and fit a new seal. End result is a hefty warranty bill for Hyundai ![]() |

So far in the last year costs have been:
10k 130 20k 128 30k 170 40K 260 50k 467 (21.6 03) The 60k will be in a fortnight! So far 54k in 14 months, and yes I do go on holiday - not in the Santa! Why fart about with 4 cylinders when you can have 8

Santy's first (10000 miles) service today. I got it done at one of the biggest dealers here in Scotland with many franchises. Local Nissan branch done it using Hyundai parts from their Hyundai branch. Total cost 108. I can't complain about that.

Can I ask for more upto date service costs stories, has yours been serviced? what was the cost?
I'm sure if we have an overview of costs around the country it will soon show if your being overcharged in your area..... Lancahire.... BCC Hyundai have done all the service work on mine and I have to say I have always been well treated. These costs are for a V6 auto so far.... 10,000---- 150 20,000---- 230 30,000---- 195 The 30K was a good deal as I got it discounted from 220 and woohoo it just passed it's first MOT with no trouble ![]() |

Hi all,
Thought I'd better post mine while I remembered, for the CRTD...: - 10k = 193.84 20k = 253.48 30k = 225.44 40k = 401.52 (that one includes new brake pads fitted) Andy... ![]() CERISE SANTYS ARE KEPT FOR KINGS |

40k = 401.52 (that one includes new brake pads fitted)
Hi Andy, re your comment above on the brake pads - was that just one axle or both for the pads? My brake pedals down at 35k miles and I've just been quoted either 110 or 120 for the front pads dependent on which Hyundai dealership does them. The local Kwik Fit bodgit and bashum depot quoted 70 for the front but I don't think I want to trust their workmanship somehow! Stevie |

Re: service costs in UK | ||

Hi Z,
I thought it was for both front and rear, but going by what you've just said it's more than likely just the front... Pad kit = 54.53 Fitting = 23.00 Plus VAT on top, which works out approx 13:47 (if I've worked it out right I remember years back I had an Audi Quattro Coupe, and I changed the brake pads myself, I think I paid 45 for the complete set... Just had 40,000 mile service done and cost= 220.00
That includes changing brake fluid, pollen filter, oil and air filters. Service was not done at a Hyundai dealer but at a local service garage I know and trust. Now it's out of warranty I can please myself who does what Garage recomended new front pads in around another 3000 miles and said tyres will need changing later this year. ----------------------------------------------------- These service costs are for my V6 auto so far.... 10,000---- 150 20,000---- 230 30,000---- 195 40,000-----220 ----------------------------------------------------- ![]() |

Re: service costs in UK | ||

Well I'm on the old merry go round ringing around for the cheapest price for a 40k service on the 2.0 CRTD diesel again.
It was laid up for 3 months last year (I was ill - don't ask - wasn't pretty) so it wasn;t driven but 38.5k is now on it and the price quotes are as follows: Hyundai dealer 1 427.05 Hyundai dealer 2 458.50 Hyundai dealer 3 360.00 Hyundai dealer 4 235.00 (i think he may have misquoted) Non Hyundai dealer 240.00 (meets warranty service specs) These dealers cover Derbyshire, Notts, S Yorkshire and one pending from Lincs. All the costs differences are labour costs but it's still a lot of money for what is "quote" 3.5 hours work plus parts! Interestingly enough two dealers say "you show us a quote and we'll match it" but going back and getting quotations is time consuming and I can;t charge 70.50 per hour as one dealer does to me. Or am I just not in the real world for pricing? Stevie |

Re: service costs in UK | ||

Further to my previous email I had the 40k service done by the Hyundai dealer that quoted 360 - except when I booked it in and asked the price again it was 319.
Either they don't have a correct pricing schedule or they just make it up as they go along. In fairness they did a good job and even told me that the fog light wasn't working (not something that's been used lately in the summer light and heat) which turned out to be the switch that's collapsed internally. One on order and under warranty but I've got to remove the Trafficmaster Monitor screen and fittings before they will dismantle the dash front to get it out! Time now to save for the 50k I suppose! Stevie. |

Quote: My first service was done by Arnold Clark but I used his Cumbernauld branch (Nissan) The parts were brought in from Alexander Parade. The only reason it was so cheap is because I get a good discount at that branch. Did you know Sandy from sales at the parade? He has now taken over as manager at Cumbernauld. Cleaned out my bank balance but at least I didn't have to take out a loan, which is what I might have to take out for my 70k service... Andy... ![]() ![]() |
