Go Pack,
Why don't you make that leaf green for now then change its color with the season?? On second thought, after October leaves will be gone. What then?? Maybe a Molson or LaBatt logo would work......how about Seagram's VO?? Great stuff made in Canada. |

Yea I thought my PC went nuts, and changed the size of the fonts etc, after a few seconds I realize that is the actual size. I like it though, but have you notice if you stare at it for too long, you hypnotize your self. You're getting sleepy, You're getting sleepy. ![]() I see the lights on the horizon, and they are of my new Santa Fe.

Waiting for my new Sante Fe!!!
|
Hi Everyone,
I am just waiting to take delivery of my 2003 Sante Fe GLS. It is black with moonroof, side steps and bush bar. I can't wait to see it. I'll probably be kicking myself in the ass when it comes time to wash it every other day but black is the only color I liked. The silver needs to be more metallic looking and brighter in color (sorry grey owners). I purchased my Sante Fe over the internet through carcostcanada.ca. I bought if for $400.00 over dealer cost. It was great not having to deal with any sales people. I am still having the jitters about purchasing a Hyundai because I have always bought GM but my last vehicle (2000 Oldsmobile Silhouette Premiere Van) had a lot of electical problems and turned me off of GM (not to mention the service). Has anyone replaced the stereo in their Sante Fe. I must admit during my test drives I thought the sound wasn't that great. Maybe there are some adjustments to be made. Is it true that the headlights do not come on automatically but will shut off if you leave them on? A lot of people say the gas mileage is not that great and it gets worse instead of better. Most people do not say what kind of driver they are. Fast at takeoff, on and off the gas pedal, driving over 80 km per hour etc. etc...... I have also heard the paint is very cheap, any comments......... Will let you know once I take delivery and what I think. dirtduster |

Welcome to the forum dirtbuster
The black is very nice, while it is a hassle to keep clean once it is it sure makes up for it. I too purchased mine thru the internet here in the US just to avoid getting screwed by the dealer and the haggling. Your fears of purchasing a Hyundai are soley based on on the going perception that people still have on the company. While its true they messed up in the past they have learned from their mistakes and are producing above and beyond than most higher priced cars out there. There are a few quirks that the vehicle has and like most things in life it can be a personal one. In mine it was not enough gizmos, in yours its the stereo. i would suggest to look throughout the sections of the forum for tips and ideas that other members have done with their systems. The headlights do turn off the minute you turn off the vehicle, and come back on when you turn on the vehicle. It saves you the chance of having a dead battery. The gas mileage is all depending on your driving habits, city drive, highway drive etc. You can probably increase it by a tiny bit by adding an K&N filter, enough air in your tires and doing mostly highway miles. I have not seen any problems with the paint, but I could be wrong, like I said try to read as much as you can throughout the sections of the forum and you will see the ups and downs of the vehicle. While there are downs, (every vehicle does) you will find that the Santa Fe has less than most other SUVs out there (for proof just go to any other SUV forum whether thru the web or on Usenet) and you will see what I mean. Congrats Good luck on your Santa Fe, I'm sure you will enjoy it. In the meantime since you are looking through the forum, just sit back , read browse post and learn but have fun doing it. |

Re: Waiting for my new Sante Fe!!!

Hi Guys,
Well I have had my Sante Fe for approx. 2 weeks. I have already run into a few problems. At 600 km my brakes started to squeal so loud I was embarrassed to stop. We had a preety nice day weather wise last week (considering the winter we've been having) and the kids wanted me to open the sunroof so I said why not! We left the house and when I got up to 20 km it sounded like there was a helicopter hovering over our heads to the point our eardrums were vibrating. As soon as I got up over 60 km it disappeared. I took it in for servicing and they told me the brakes are probably squealing because it has been extremely cold! I might be a woman but I am not a dumb blonde! The sunroof has them stumped. They told me they would take it up with the Hyundai rep when he comes in this week. I have had a Pontiac and a Mazda with a sunroof and neither one did this. I am getting nervous about my Hyundai purchase. I have also noticed that the interior noise is quite loud when you are not listening to the radio. If anyone has experienced these problems please let me know. Will keep you posted. dirtduster |
