Posts: 22 (10/08/05 10:25:14) More My Recent Posts	I was last new owner to be in Check in Part 4! my santy is pewter (only one on the lot...it was Brad Benson Hyundai's rarest color shipment they said) and it has 76,450 miles. My family bought it 5/4/01 from Brad Benson Hyundai in Central NJ (it was one of the few dealerships that wasn't selling santy's for close to $30k...it was HUGE then!)

Don't listen to what the Sandstone or even the white owners have to say. I've got a 2004 in Pewter and love it now with 16,000+ miles on her. Posts: 22 (10/09/05 20:25:03) More My Recent Posts	now it seem's to be the most popular color, but back in 01 when the santa fe was in its infancy, all the dealership had was black LX's and burgundy GL's and a handful of other colors, but only one pewter. I demanded my family to get it. I think it's the manliest of santy's colors anyways

I am presently on deployment to Kosovo, but my wife is the one who bought the Santa Fe. It is a 2002 model in Sandstone. We had thought about buying one of the 2001 models when they first came out, but went with a sedan instead. She finally decided she needed her own vehicle and wanted an SUV. I think the Santa Fe fits her just right. I love to modify vehicles and cant wait to get home to start on the Santa Fe. We are not new to Hyundai though. We use to own a 93 Sonata which I really liked but ended up making the mistake of trading it in on a mini van, that was a mistake. I have been checking out the board and looking for mods for the Santa Fe and am happy that parts are available, unlike my present car which is here www.cardomain.com/ride/379092 I know that one of the first things I am going to do is put new wheels and tires on it when I get back. Im not a stock wheel and tire guy. If anyone has any suggestions on wheels and tire sizes that would be greatly appreciated. I need to keep the same rolling diamter but want to plus size. Generally quite a few existing members come in here to welcome everyone....don't know where they all are but I'm sure they'll be around. One of our moderators, TroutGuy, found this wheel and tire calculator so if you decide to get bigger wheels, you'll be able to have the speedometer/odometer recalibrated to reflect the change in wheel size. I'm loving every minute of it, but then even the bare bones Accent I traded on it was more reliable than most cars I've owned in the past. I've been looking around here for the last few days (I picked it up back on Monday) and have noticed references to 2002 and 2002.5. Could someone please enlighten me as to the differences or what I should look for? My main plans for modding are black powder coated grill and headlamp protection, nerf bars, and tail lamp protection. Inside, I plan to eventually put in a rosewood kit to give it some extra class. It's medium blue with the medium gray lower body, gray interior, and an ASC sunroof. I'm almost 40, so light kits and the like aren't exactly my thing, but musclular looks and classy interior are most definitely my thing. What color is your Santy? Any options? We love pictures and details around here! I'm not sure of the differences between the 2002 and the 2002.5 but here's what they did from 2003 to 2006. 2003: Introduction of 3.5 liter engine, moved clock from roof to dashboard, changed design of fog light/hazard lights/defrost switches. Monsoon Sound System added on GLS and LX models. 2004: Redesign of manual climate controls (very minor, most wouldn't notice the change) 2005: Four cylinder engine and stick shift option dropped. Gauges redesigned as well as minor exterior styling refreshing. 2006: Canyon Red and Merlot colors were discontinued and the window switches were redesigned. LX trim replaced by Limited. Right now we have a 04 Sante Fe GLS 2.7, sunroon, 6 cd changer, burgandy with grey int. This just became mine last week when I got thw wife a 06 Sonata. So far she loves it. We like Hyundais so much when we traded our 00 Sonata in my wifes best friend bought it the next day! I also had a 02 Accent to commute with.
