Hey Forum...proud owner of a 2001 Santa Fe 2.7 AWD with 153,000 miles and no major repairs! The AC compressor has spilled its guts (dye test shows leak) and
I have a mechanic buddy who has the facility and ability to replace the compressor for me. Before I engage his time and resources can someone outline the
basic process for accesssing the compressor (ie, what do we need to remove to access it)?
As I stare blankly into the engine compartment, the compressor is at the bottom front of the block, and there doesn't appear to be much room (exhaust, cond coil, etc in the way).
Sorry if this sounds like a really dumb question, but I'm not working right now and looking to save some money if I can.
Thanks, SantyFizzle
