I swear if Yuku drops one more post or forces me to change my log in ONE more time, I will turn Yukukamikasi.

Now that I'm calmer, thanks to klindstedt for calling attention to this excellent fix. My 2002 never gets a garage and lenses have turned so yellow, they are both ugly AND making for dim headlights.

There's a few things I encountered that MIGHT make it easier for the next person.

1. All of the products EXCEPT ONE can be bought much cheaper at any parts store. Only the four tiny "CV#2" coating solution envelopes are the secret here. Even so, package is STILL worth the $ 20.

2. Instructions say operation can be done on the car. That may be, but take two minutes and unscrew the three hex head screws on each side so that both the sanding prep and coating can be done with the lens in a nearly horizontal position.

3. The 1000 grit/2500 grit wet sanding and THICK polishing compound is messy. Do this job outside and under cover. The # 2 coating solution is VERY VERY thin and will likely run and drip. Coating solution come out of the envelope MUCH FASTER than the identically packaged polishing compound!!!

4. I took much longer to sand and prep than instructions indicate. Unless the lens is completely etched, I doubt the # 2 coating would adhere for long.

5. Instead of tearing the top off the # 2 coating envelope, I used a pin to pierce the second # 2 envelope. Between coating coats (I used 20 minutes, not 3) I replaced the pin into the envelope hole which acted like a cork. Try to keep lens horizontal when wiping microfiber rag (I used HALF of one piece, folded) across a few drops of the coating. Too much and you'll get runs and brush marks.

4. Let dry for a couple of hours before replacing on the car. Look out for rain.

Sorry, no pics but similar results to above pics. Now I just wonder how long they will last.

I have # 2 coating solution left over (Portland, Oregon) if someone wants me to mail and try buying the other stuff cheaper. SBR 711 gets first dibs.
