Just a heads up for people here in the NW. If you need something done to your car don't take it to this dealer.
We took our 04 Santafe in to have the 60 done to it on May 5th and just got it back July 17th.
They did the 60 and the tensioner broke within 20 miles.( thats what they told us ) They have had this in their shop and had tried to fix it 4 times. They have tried to give it back to us still damaged 3 times. A district service manager came and looked at it the 3rd time and said it didn't need a new motor so they tried it again and ended up putting a new short block in it on the 4th.
Mind you all this time they made us feel that they weren't going fix it after the first time because of existing problems with motor and extended warranty. Had to prove we had the warranty and almost came to having to show all oil and filter receipts. Only because ( I feel anyway ) I made them sign on the work order there was still noise in the engine when we picked it up the first time is why I think it didn't get worse with them. I also think because we never had a issue with it they had to take our word there was nothing wrong with the motor to use against us.
Hyundai USA was very little help with this problem telling me that these dealers are independent and they have little control over them
So just a heads up.
1-Protect your self by keeping your service repairs in order
2- Keep your receipts for any and all work you did on your santy
3- Really and I mean REALLY check out your dealers track record with the BBB and your State Attorney General for complaints before you use him. ( Mine had a few that if I had know before I would have ran away from him )
As far as Hyundai's warranty. I guess as with any warranty it is only as good as the company behind it.
I have to say Hyundai you didn't do well with this one
Don't know why part of this is in cap's my lock wasn't on. Sorry about that.
