I love my Santa Fe to bits and now, just about 300 miles shy of the big 100,000, I had a choice to make. Either keep the old girl or take my dad up on his
offer to get a new one. The hitch was I'd have to sell the '04. I decided to keep her and put some money into upgrading her just the way I'd like.
Some may call me crazy (most here have) but it's my choice.
As I said, I love the car but I hate the fact that it doesn't have a sunroof. Both my parents' cars do and two of my friends' cars do also. I have always been wary about aftermarket sunroofs, having heard horror stories about leaks, noise, and poor quality. So I jumped onto Google and found a company called Webasto that does a ton of OEM manufacturing for automotive companies. They are highly reputable and have failed to find anything that leads me to believe otherwise. I have e-mailed their local authorized installer and hope to hear back from them by tomorrow because of the long weekend.
So, here is the list of modifications that I would still like to do:
- Sunroof (a Sonata owner on Hyundai Forums got his for $1,100 and loves it)
- Tint Front Windows to Match the Rears ($75 I was quoted)
- Possibly re-surface the seats in two-tone leather (big maybe here)
