Also asked them to look at the radio as it keeps dropping channels (loose lead I think) and the speedo as it over reads by 10% at 40 which just ain't right..

How much for a 40k service.... |

Just been quoted £475 for the 40k service, and that's before they find things to replace... I shall be crying into my beer on Tuesday night.

I cant remember what engine you have but mine is the 2.4 engine and the 40,000 mile service cost me £257.88 at a Hyundai dealer.

Ahh well, the mileage was creeping up so I got it done. Didn't get it washed afterwards which I thought was unusual Citroen always used to fo that - or
maybe the Citroen mechanics just had diretier hands LOL.
It's a 55 plate faceliftd 2.0 turbo diesel Steff1965. Oh and guess what.... Car's all OK, the two faults I noted are warranty repairs - but apprantley the clutch is on it's way out. Funny I said - when I bought it off you four months or so ago I asked if it should bite that high and your mechanics said "tis normal sir"; and now it isn't normal? I await the dealer principle's decision. |

55 plate and the clutch is on it's way out at 40,000 miles already? It must have had a hard life towing or something.

Or the previous owenr was a bit of a crap driver.... dealer principle agreed the clutch was a warranty / their cost item. Happy bunny.

Glad to hear they got you covered.
It doesn't take much to burn out a clutch. A good friend of mine had the engine in her Chrysler LHS seize and so she inherited her dad's Mazda truck which was a stick shift. Having never driven a stick before, she burned the clutch out in 10,000 miles. She's gotten much better and as far as I know, no issues.
Santa Fe -- It doesn't get any better than this!
"Like people, every car possesses a unique character, with its own DNA, talents, and idiosyncrasies. Push it too hard and it'll turn on you, as
a person would. If it's worth anything, it gets more interesting the more you get to know it."
