Took a trip to Mt Rainier over the weekend to get away from the heat. Though it was beautiful and the flowers were out the heat followed us up.

Beautiful mountain, Gary.
I'm probably going to be back up in Tacoma to buy some more floor epoxy...maybe we can do lunch?

Nice pics shup, I visited the mountain a few times while at Boeing (Everette plant) for business. The wife and I hiked to the base camp at 9000 feet......twas

Thanks everyone.
The pictures really don't do it justice. I'm using that live cr$p from msn and trying out the photo place. It gives you options for the quality of picture and I used the least high setting. Will try the highest and see what happens when we head for the Redwoods next month. Will try and get some of the trip going down and across to the coast. Will be a new way for me and the wife. Will get some for you Andy and Steff showing more of the NW. Don't know if you have been over in the NW Dan but will take lots of pictures for you guys. Andrew, Let me know when you are coming. We will try and hook up. shup |

Back in 1971, I was taking a military tech school class at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver. On the weekends a buddy and I ran around seeing the sights. Mt.
Evans had a road to the peak at, I think, the 14,800 foot point, but it was blocked for snow at 14,000 feet in early September. There was a parking spot there.
I'll never forget looking out over the peaks and looking down at the lodge at the lake below at (only) 10,500 feet. One of those moments not to forget.
The Appalatians have their own kind of beauty. I lived in Knoxville, Tennessee, for six years and enjoyed it every day. I often took trips to the Smokies. But nothing compares to the Rockies.
