Oh, I never said it was perfect, but it is pulling air from outside the engine bay. Given the space restrictions, unless you want to completely relocate the battery to make a straight line from the intake manifold to the existing hole in the fender, you will be looking at a serious amount of pipe that would negate almost any effect of having the CAI in the first place unless it was heavily insulated from the engine bay. Not to mention the amount of turbulence being introduced with a series of bends/corners in the plumbing. I doubt the minimal performance gains are worth it in the end.

I've had the Weapon R SRI piping installed since 2006 and have no complaints at all. I haven't used their filter since 2007 and have instead been using K&N 3" cone filters.
