As most folks on here know, I run a V6 with LPG, this means that even though the fuel consumption is less than a normal petrol fuelled car, it's still very
cheap to run as LPG is less than half the price of petrol.
Well, I had the Santa in for the 70k service last week and was lent a tractor powered Tucson automatic.
Never having driven a Tucson before I jumped in quickly even though it was a nasty smelly gasoil thing. Imagine my shock when the dash computer said 20mpg, and going uphill after I zeroed the trip it dropped to 6.3!!!
Average consumption driving steadily, with a bit of motorway 70mph gave 22.7mpg. I'm currently averaging similar with the V6.
Derv power? You can keep it. As for the Tucson, it drove reasonably well, but I couldn't afford to run one on a regular basis.
