Today we had to put my cat of 14 years down. I was doing just fine until it all hit me right now. It's funny when a pet has been a part of your life for more than half of it, it takes a little while for the impact of their absence to really hit you. It took about twelve hours but it's hitting me now and it's hitting hard.

Thanks, everybody.
I've been in San Francisco since Wednesday night and the combination of being busy and not being at home is really helping me cope. My mom, on the other hand is taking it hard.
