Recently my check engine light came on and I lost my speedo readings. I ran my code scanner and found code P0503 Vehicle Speed Sensor. I am aware that this could be any of the numerous speed sensors giving bad readings, however, I also read that when the speedo dies it is most likely the main speed sensor. It was also said that this sensor is located on top of the differential housing. Is this the sensor under and behind the thermostat housing? If I am mistaken, where is the location of the VSS?
