It allways will turn over within two tries, but it seems to happen about 50% of the time.It has been going on for about a year now since the plugs and timing belt were replaced. The car has around 90K miles on it now its the 2.7 V6 Any ideas where to look?

The fact that you mention the problems began around the time you had the plugs & timing belt changed might be a good place to start. I'd check the obvious first off & make sure all the connections are tight. If you have a slightly rough idle than compared to before, or are experiencing lesser gas mileage, this might possibly be the result of a misgapped plug.

Posts: 3 (05/01/11 18:59:43) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Ok, So i took some advice from a coworker and have been turning the key to the Accessory for a few seconds before cranking every time for the last few days. It seems to start right up when I do this. He thinks it could be the Fuel Pump or Fuel Filter, does this seem to make sense?

Posts: 253 (05/07/11 09:24:12) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	If the fuel pump is bad it's easy to change. The access portal is under the rear seat on the drivers side as I recall. Be very very very careful during reassembly that you get the seal on straight during reassembly or you will get a vaccume leak and a CEL shining in your face. I don't remember where the filter is but it may be on the pump assy as well.

Posts: 4 (06/08/11 12:03:35) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Remove this ad It was the fuel pump. I also had to replace some valve on the fuel tank and all the vaccum hoses in the engine bay to kill the CEL that started this entire problem off.
