Hello all I am hoping someone can offer me some help with a serious issue my mother is having with her 2005 Santa Fe. Today she called me in a panic because she drove through a large puddle after a serious rain storm and the steering wheel completely locked up and the battery and break lights come on and she nearly lost control of her vehicle and go into an accident. The problem lasts for a short but scary period of time and then everything appears to go back to normal. I have done EXTENSIVE searching on the subject and I have not found any solid answers. Some have suggested the power steering belt is getting wet and slipping off the pulley for a temporary period of time. We have brought the car to a total of 4 mechanics including Hyundai themselves and nobody can even reproduce the problem let alone offer a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
